So, What Happens in these Groups Then?

This week we’re answering some questions you might have about the groups we run at GROW. We hope that this might help women build the confidence to access groups.

Knowing What’s On/Reminders

You can find information about groups at both GROW sites, here on the GROW blog, or you can ask a GROW worker.

If you want to be reminded about when groups are, we can give you a text or call the day before and/or the morning of the group.

Number of Women

Our groups vary in size, if you want to know a rough idea of how many women come to each group just ask a GROW worker.

Getting Here

All GROW service users can grab a bus pass, or get parking paid when they come to a 1:1 or to a group, just ask a GROW worker.

If you need extra support on your first trips to the office we can come and meet you outside, or at a designated safe space and walk in with you. If there’s any other way we can help, please talk this through with a GROW worker and we can see what we can do.

Women Only

Everyone who comes to group, whether they are participant, worker, guest speaker or facilitator, is a woman or a girl as we know this can be really important for women.

Facilities

We’ve got all your basics covered – teas, coffees, sanitary products, biscuits (essential). Both sites are wheelchair accessible and there is no pressure to stay for the whole thing.

Where?

Groups currently run from central Rotherham and Barnsley sites, and we have one community group. We know that travel can be a barrier for some women so please leave us feedback of where else we could run groups in our survey.

When

Groups typically run in the morning, if this is something that is difficult for you, we would love to hear about in our group’s survey.
