Community, Support, Wellbeing

GROW runs three wellbeing groups, these groups do a range of activities including arts and crafts, mindfulness techniques and awareness sessions.

Wellbeing groups run weekly and are really welcoming, there’s always a cuppa and biscuits and everything is completely optional. This week, we’re going to be hearing some feedback from women who have attended the Hear Her Voice Wellbeing Morning in Barnsley.

“The group has helped me so much with my self-esteem and confidence and helping me and supporting me to make new friends. Helped me go on other activities and taking me on visits to places.”

“By attending groups I have come across so many different people, who are all different individuals going through many stages of their own personal journey, some of them have become very important to me and helped me on my own journey, they’ve helped, offered unconditional friendship, Taught and show me techniques and how to grow self-esteem and confidence. And, the members have had Extreme patients with me, especially on my bad upsetting days; they’ve all been so supportive and kind. and after my own personal traumatic experience.

“Speaking with others in similar situations has helped me to understand that what I went through was not my fault. It feels so good to know I am not the only one. Meditation and breath work help to calm my nerves when I am having bad days. Having made friends with everyone has also been a huge help in helping me move forward”
